Quick and vague Memorial invitations

this morning my doorbell rang.

i opened the door thinking it was a package delivery person or local politicians thanking my community for voting in yesterday's election.

there was a middle aged man standing by himself.

hi does anyone know any good articles or videos about how old mankind and the earth are and carbon dating?

i've just started looking into it but there seems to be a lot of conflicting ideas over accuracy so i'm unsure what to think.

another business idea for watchtower PLC

its been mentioned before---care homes.

in the uk there are a few ( no idea how many ) jireh care homes--loosely connected with the watchtower.. but take this on board.

the dubs are an ever aging customer base.. in the uk, lots of the ageing population end their years in privately run care homes.

Disfellowshipped/disassociated – How did your parents handle it?

to those who were disfellowshipped/disassociated – how did your still-in parents handle it?.

i don’t want to fade, so i am thinking about disassociating soon – i don’t care if i’m playing by the org’s rules, i just want out.. however, i am concerned about how my parents will react.

i don’t want them to become super depressed or whatever due to me leaving the org.. i don’t want them to be hurt by my decision to leave the org, but i feel like there is no way of avoiding this..

Unfortunately there's no easy way out of the organisation. They've made it that way to keep people trapped. You could feed them the odd question about some of the teachings before you leave without mentioning where you got them from. Jwfacts has great information to help with this. In time maybe those questions will make them have doubts themselves. Its not that long since I D'A myself and I feel so free and happy now and like a massive weight is off my shoulders. I wish you the best. You can not let the fear of hurting your family by you leaving the cult stop you living your life the way you want to. Live your life to the full, make new friends, have fun!

When You See A JW Approaching What Are Your Thoughts?

i used to get a weird feeling in my stomach when i would see a witness approaching.... almost a sense of dread.

now, i really don’t care.

i have even made it a point to do the approaching when i see a witness trying to convert an ignorant person..

My heart starts racing but i smile coz I'm happy not to be part of the cult anymore and want them to see you can be happy not being a jw. Wish i could go tell them to free themselves and enjoy what they have left of their lives.

Questions For Jehovah's Witnesses

here are some tough questions designed to determine honesty of the witnesses you meet.. 1. is post secondary education currently discouraged by your religion?

2. does your religion teach, that with rare exceptions, only baptised jws will survive armageddon?.

do you believe jehovah will completely destroy billions of people at armageddon?.

When I'm in town on Saturday shopping I will see carts everywhere and its so tempting to ask them the 2 questions above

How would you be required to treat a Jehovah Witness who leaves your religion?

- Are Jehovah's Witnesses instructed to shun ex-witnesses who no longer believe that your organization is directed by God?

And then once they answer I'll say "Well you shouldn't be talking to me then. But if you're interested as to why myself and many others don't believe it is the true religion then I'll be happy to discuss it with you".

I also like these 2 questions coz they'd be so difficult for the jw you ask to answer but easy for the person asking to have a comeback and make them think (or they'd freeze maybe and not have an answer).

I know of 2 adult jws who did. I know of 2 jws children of which 1 tried to hang herself but her mum walked in and the other who was thinking about it but went to the school counsellor to talk instead thankfully

Welcome refuel. If God Reilly protected the congregation then there wouldn't be paedophiles or wife beaters either, its a paedophiles and abusers paradise. The whole religion is a cult and run by 8 power hungry men and is damaging people's lives

memorial talk, the Sunday before the memorial

my husband just realized that our trip out of town to see lots of extended family members is over the saturday of the memorial.

he looked all disappointed.

(in light of his recent behaviors this kind of surprised me).
